Merry Christmas!!

It is amazing how much everything can change in a year. Last Christmas we found out we were expecting our first and this Christmas we are somewhat sleep deprived and adoring parents. We feel so blessed to have a beautiful healthy baby boy!

Our lives have changed dramatically with Gideon's birth. This sweet baby boy has given us a new perspective on life, a new level of patience, a greater sense of joy, a clearer purpose and has expanded our ability to love all things.

We hope you have a very Merry Christmas,

Clint, Marissa & Gideon Thorn

Don't get any ideas...

Corinne made this quilt for Gideon. It is seriously the cutest quilt ever (there are little weiner dogs on it)! But don't get any ideas from this...I don't think she's taking orders.

Our blessed boy...

On November 22 we packed up our car and made the long drive to Utah (I would not recommend doing this with a 3 month old baby). The unfortunate part of long drives is once you start driving you really don't have any options other than to keep driving! We got there just in time for Gideon's blessing on Sunday. It was a beautiful and WARM day (we were expecting snow). All of our family and friends came to support our little guy, everything was perfect!

We spent the rest of the week in Utah. Gideon seemed to enjoy the trip...so much that he decided to stay awake more. Before we left Seattle he was sleeping through the night, but soon Gideon adapted to a new schedule of waking 4-6 times per night(we are still recovering from this). But sleep deprivation is worth it to spend some time with family and friends.

Better late than never...

Gideon had trouble finding the right costume, much like his parents...The first one was just too small. The second one was too uncomfortable! But the third one was just right, so he wore it all Halloween long. Clint and I didn't dress up this year. I couldn't fit into any of my past costumes and it was depressing...Bah humbug!

Who knew???

I hate to admit it but this place is only minutes away from our home and we have never been there until today. But it couldn't have been a better day to venture out! Although it was a little chilly for Gideon. He kept throwing his head back to catch a glimpse of the scenery, but once the wind hit his face he would gasp and become upset...can't have everything!

Halloween is almost here!!

Remembering the fun...

Every Halloween we go to the Jensen's Halloween bash. Last year we even came all the way from Seattle just to attend this party! Each year they pick a different theme. For those of you who do not have the privilege to go to these parties, I'll give you the themes and leave it up to you to guess who we are... (I'll post a picture for 2006 when I find it).

I put the mother in smother

I just can't get enough of our sweet Gideon. He's going to get sick of me soon because I smother him the whole time he is awake.

Getting to know Gideon...

We have been having so much fun getting to know Gideon. He has changed dramatically in last couple weeks, from his coloring to his personality. He no longer has jaundice, so our once tan baby is now pasty white like us. And he is way more alert, which means more play time during the day and less sleep at night! But we can't complain he is such a sweet baby. He has endured a lot of poking and prodding in his short life and he hasn't complained a bit!

So far everything looks good with his health. The doctors still want to do more testing on him to try to figure out why his RBC count is so low. Hopefully its nothing, but if something is abnormal with his blood, it's good to know.

Gideon Mathis Thorn

Much to our surprise our beautiful baby boy came 3 weeks early on August 17. Although we were looking forward to the extra time to get moved into our new place, we think we're going to keep him! He weighed 6 lbs 10 oz, which is pretty good for how early he was. We pretty much think he is the most amazing little person that ever existed. In 6 days he has changed our lives dramatically, and we love him for it!

This Weekend

Some of you might ask yourself, "who wears tie-die still?" So let me answer this question. Pregnant ladies who find cool (as in temperature), non-maternity t-shirts that still fit them might wear tie-die.

My belly is still growing! Sometimes it scares me to think of how much it still has to grow.

Rockin 4th of July Parade!!

Clint had job training in Utah so we were able visit for a week! It was so nice to spend some more time with family, not to mention the wonderful dry heat! I was able to lay out a bit, not with baby oil this time, but I still got burnt (my Seattle skin is so sensitive now). I have a nice halo like tan on the top of my belly. Also, we were able to make some trips to our favorite quickie restaurants (Costa Vida, Del Taco) the baby misses all of the faux Mexican food.

Hello third trimester!

So I woke up this morning and said hello to my third trimester! My belly seemed to double in size overnight! A few weeks ago, this lady at church guessed that I was 4 months pregnant when I was actually about 6 months. I saw her again today and she asked if I was 8 months pregnant!

Sunny Saturday

Yesterday we took a day trip to Deception Pass. It was so beautiful there, the pictures don't really do it justice. Clint and I had to dust off our old sunglasses because it was such a sunny day.

Visiting Utah

My mom and the Thorns threw an amazing shower for me in Utah. I would show more pictures, but all of them were terrible, especially of me. Here are a couple pics of us pregnant girls comparing bumps.
